What You'll Do Every Day

Your mornings might start with a technical discovery call, asking probing questions about a prospect's data pipelines, compliance constraints, and integration landscape. Afternoons are spent prototyping—spinning up a proof-of-concept using the latest LLM APIs, fine-tuning a model for domain-specific terminology, or benchmarking open-source alternatives against proprietary solutions. You're constantly context-switching: architecting a RAG pipeline for one client, then explaining token limits to a non-technical stakeholder, then debugging why a model's outputs drift for a third account.

Your success is measured in deals closed, customers adopted, and solutions that actually solve problems—not papers published or bugs fixed. You own the gap between what's technically possible and what customers will actually use. This means balancing cutting-edge capability with pragmatism: sometimes the best solution is a simpler model that integrates faster, not the state-of-the-art one with 10x more parameters.

What You'll Work On

• Designing AI workflows for specific customer pain points—document analysis, content generation, chatbots, anomaly detection
• Evaluating and comparing LLMs, embedding models, and frameworks against customer requirements
• Building technical demos, proof-of-concepts, and minimal viable integrations to prove feasibility
• Translating customer requirements into clear product specifications and deployment architecture
• Advising sales teams on which solutions fit which customer segments

In India's market, AI Solutions Engineers command premium salaries—often 40-60% above software engineers at the same level—because they combine rare skills.
